This well known Canadian retail chain is Canada’s largest retailer of its type, operating stores across the country and through their significant e-commerce website.  For over 20 years and with hundreds of stores and thousands of employees across the nation, they are Canada’s primary choice for their product focus.

Challenge

This Canadian Retailer was struggling with the ability to file and access delivery documents in a timely manner.  They continually had to deal with misfiled and lost documents.  In addition, the retail store locations were in the dark with respect to inbound shipments and as a result were unprepared with the required resources to receive and efficiently process daily deliveries.

Solution

ACI proposed and implemented a solution to scan and index thousands of inbound and outbound delivery documents on a daily basis, making them available for instant retrieval through FileManager™, our Cloud Document Management platform.  With respect to store shipments, ACI now makes early-morning pre-shipment document pickups from the retailer’s distribution centre and provides swift document conversion turnaround to ensure stores and carriers have the information they need to be prepared for their respective inbound shipments.

ACI successfully implemented an end-to-end solution that eliminates lost or misfiled documents and allows for the quick, easy and accurate retrieval of any converted document in seconds.  The client was very excited that ACI met and exceeded their requirement for quick conversion turnaround times.  In addition, ACI developed a solution for this retailer that automatically notifies each store daily with the details of their respective inbound shipments, allowing them to be staffed accordingly.  Carriers are also made aware of load expectations, making their shipping process much more efficient.  ACI has satisfactorily delivered a cost effective and reliable solution to support the client’s processes without the need for additional resources.  Having the required information at their fingertips has allowed for efficiencies that will continue to bring returns far into the future.
